In the beginning of 2011 we played another show with the Coconutbutts in Aachen (Germany)! The crowd in Germany is awesome and come in big numbers hehe. Almost been a year, time for more shows in Germany next year?

We also played a show with two of my (Deny) personal favourite bands Mike TV and Uncommom Men From Mars, so that was a blast and mentionable enough to put in the ‘what happened in 2011′ post.

We also released our first ‘kind-of-official’ video for Flukes and falling stars
We got really rad reviews about it and it got more than 2000 views
(for us 2000 views is a fucking lot!)

Then summer arrived and there was the big change in the Dowzer camp,
line up change that is! Out with the old and in the new, welcome to Bart (on guitar) and Erik (on drums)! An overdose of motivation form both the new members and for Sandra and me. New songs were written, old songs rearranged and getting ready for live shows!

First show with the new line up was also the very first hometown show for Dowzer!
Who would have thaught we’d play our little village Rucphen at Trefpop?
That was awesome!

Also mentionable, in my opinion a show that goes in the top 5 of ‘most awesome shows in Dowzer history’ is the release show of FOD in Lier, Belgium. Shows and the punkrock kids in Belgium are always awesome, we love it there!

And now we’re ready for 2012, where we will be recording our new EP and hope to play a shitload of shows to support it! Thanks everybody for checking us out, listening to our music and sharing it with all your facebook, twitter and, not to forget!, real life friends!

So finally some news on this website here
So what happened the last few weeks?

We did a last minute interview and played a new song on Zuidwest TV/Under Construction, thanks to Robby and Bas (Appendix) and you can watch the interview and our new song by clicking on the flashy blue things they call links

Later that week we played our first live show at Trefpop and it was a blast! Playing for lots of friends and family and our first show where we didn’t need a car to go to haha.

A week after thát we played a last minute (yes again last minute!) show in Hall of Fame in Tilburg, thanks to Bas from Appendix (yes thanks again to Bas!) in one of the coolest venue/buildings i’ve seen! Thanks to Worst-el-aars (what a great costume that was haha) and Icon!

Okay after that we heard we could compete with T-Strijd but we had to cancel because
we weren’t available on the date we were planned… and sad enough there was no band that could switch dates… but Hey more good news: we’re playing at the F.O.D release show! If you like Green Day, Bracket and other 90′s poppunk stuff you’d love F.O.D (i do!)so check them out! More info about the show soon!

Further some great discovery… I’ve heard from some people the Dowzer page on facebook didn’t work or something. Seems there was some lame ass setting that only people in Holland could see the page… how dumb is that.. But that’s solved now! So all foreign people check out that page, like it, share it, spam the shit out of all your friends facebook profile’s! Thank you!
Oh one giant plus about the facebook page: it gets more updated than this site….

So we’ve been playing together for a couple of weeks now and everything’s going all right! Learning Bart and Erik our old stuff (and newer stuff!) in rocket-speed tempo to get ready for our first show in this line up. Our first show will be at Trefpop, which will be the first ever hometown show for me (Deny). So no more excuses from mom and dad for not showing up ha! (just kidding…)

We will also play 3 or 4 new songs (with ‘new’ I mean new! not on our last record!) and at the moment we’re also writing more new songs for a fresh live set and new recordings that will definetely take place somewhere in the beginning of 2012. We’ll keep you updated!

Erik Aanraad is our new drummer and Bart van Overveld is our new guitarist!
We’re going to work out some ‘old’ songs and the plan is to spend a lot of time on new songs aswell. When we’re ready for shows you’ll be the first one to know!

Dowzer is een poppunk band uit Roosendaal,
begonnen in 2007, 2 cd’s uitgebracht (o.a. in Japan)
tientalle optredens en wat kleine tours op hun naam
in Nederland, België, Duitsland en de UK.
Veel optreden, in binnen- en buitenland en
eigen werk schrijven en uitbrengen is ons doel.

Onze invloeden gaan van jaren ‘90 punkrock
tot aan de poppunk van nu, denk aan:
New Found Glory, The Swellers, Veara, Motion City Soundtrack,

Oh some news about us:
Both Sandra and Rik got new jobs/studies, I wanted to join the circus but got rejected, so I still got the same job as before. So pretty busy times besides the band, but also busy times with the band! Writing new songs for new recordings somewhere this year or the next! Further on some shows off course. Oh and thank you all for watching our video a lot! It got more than 1500 views! Amazing!
